Award: The project has been the winning entry of the “Visualizing Meteorites” challenge organized by Visualizing.org (former data visualization community platform)
Meteorites are fragments from space that survive their impact with Earth. Out of more than 45,700 recorded landings, only around 3,800 have a mass greater than 1 kg.
Macrometeorites is an interactive visualisation of these larger specimens. Users can explore them by fall location, year of discovery, and meteorite type, using a dataset from the Meteoritical Society.
