How Europe moves is a self-initiated project visualising labour migration flows within Europe.

I designed and developed this interactive visualisation to provide an overall impression of how Europeans take advantage of opportunities to work in other European countries, highlighting general migration trends.

Users can click on a country to reveal only the ‘from’ and ‘to’ flows related to that country, making it easy to explore specific migration patterns.

In order to define the directional aspect of the flow, a colour gradient runs from the origin to the destination country, complemented by a smooth line animation that clearly indicates movement direction.
