Equal Future began as a project to mark the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, with a clear mission: to highlight the progress women have made in politics over the past quarter-century, and to show the road still ahead to achieve gender parity in parliaments across Europe and Central Asia.

In 2023, the project evolved into a complete website, offering a rich collection of resources on women’s political representation worldwide. It features a series of interactive visualisations that compare the situation in different countries across the region.

Each country has a dedicated profile containing various visualisations — including one that shows the progress made over the past 29 years, along with four possible forecast scenarios up to 2030.
